A Camarillo-based company that designs biodegradable food containers will lay off nearly half of its employees by the end of January. Zume Inc. CEO Annette Groenink said in an email the move to lay off 62 of its 140 employees was part of a plan to restructure the business. The employees will stay with the company through Jan. 28. 'We believe deeply in Zume's mission, but like many other businesses, we had to come to this decision to stay ahead of the changing economic environment,' Groenink said.
