MARYSVILLE, Calif.-- — A man was sentenced for the fatal hit-and-run of a young girl who was walking to a Quinceañera with her friends, at the beginning of 2023. On January 14, 2023, at 7:16 p.m., officers from Marysville Police Department (MPD) responded to a hit-and-run collision on B Street near 24th Street. Officers found that 15-year-old, Carlos Rodriguez Camarillo, and a 13-year-old girl, Jastelyn Hernandez Garcia, had been struck by a vehicle. Camarillo had been thrown about 20 feet with severe injuries, and Garcia was lying unresponsive.
